Here are the results from the recent poll titled When was the last time you practiced a mountain biking skill?
My initial interpretation is that there’s an equal spread among those of you who took the poll. And that indicates to me that I need to consider the differences when creating content related to practice-related motivation, goals, and habits:
Those of you in the ‘never practice’ group are still interested in knowing more about practice strategies.
Among those of you who are infrequently practicing, many factors likely contribute to this situation. Maybe you can do something to mitigate those factors. Maybe not.
For those of you who are practicing at least once per week — which I’m inclined to think is the minimum for improving a skill (I don’t have evidence to back that up) — then helping you focus on how to make the most of those practice sessions would seem to be of primary importance.
I’d like to hear your insights about the poll results, as well as any feedback you have on my interpretation. In the meantime, I’ll keep working on the post(s) for practice-related motivation, goals, and habits.
